We understand that circumcision can be a big decision for a man to take. We aim to clarify the main questions you may have:
Will I be awake for the procedure?
Yes. The procedure is done under local anaesthetic, which means the area being operated will be numb, although you will be awake for the procedure.
Will I feel any pain during the procedure?
No. You will have an initial sting from the local anaesthetic injection, but once the penis is numb, you will not feel any pain.
What is the price of circumcision revision?
A consultation is required to determine the cost as patient's will have different requirements and expectations for their secondary/revision circumcision. Various factors such as the amount of work needed and complexity of the revision operation will need to be determined by the surgeon.
How long does the circumcision revision operation last?
The revision circumcision procedure varies depending on a number of factors including the amount of work needed and complexity of requirements. As a guide we estimate 1-2 hours.
How long do I need to take off work?
For a physical job, you will need to take 2 weeks off work. For an office job, you are able to go back to work the next day.
Are there any activities I am unable to do after revision circumcision?
You will need to avoid physical exercise and heavy lifting for 2 weeks after the operation.
When can I resume sexual activity after the operation?
Sexual activity can be resumed 4-6 weeks after circumcision.
How long will it take my penis to heal following circumcision?
The penis will be painful and swollen for the first 1-2 weeks. Dissolvable stitches will take about 2-3 weeks to dissolve. Full healing can take upto 6 weeks, although this can vary between individuals.
