There has been a long history of circumcision in Islam and the practice is recognised to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Sunnah circumcision should be performed at an early age and in the Islamic community in the UK circumcision represents an accepted basis for the origin of religious law. “Circumcision (Khitan), shaving or clipping the hair at the pubes, cutting of the nails, shaving the hair under the armpits, and clipping (or cutting) the moustache.” This is cited in the books of Muslim and Bukhari.
